Analogue Social Live Printing Event

The Glasgow based Analogue Social collective recently had a Live Event in Dundee -"a bare walled exhibition space, a DJ, a bar provided by anCnoc, and of course screen printing tables".
As I was always interested in printmaking, I jumped on the opportunity to try screen printing... I have tried etching before, thinking it would be a good medium for my line drawings - but the time consuming process going back and forth meant that I kept finding faults with the original, and by the time the work was finished I was deeply unhappy with the outcome :-) The relative fast pace of screen printing seemed like the answer to my problem.

A happy winner

Recently I had a couple of great things happening - my work got accepted to the Dundee AnalogueSocial event (more about that later) and I got a lovely email from Amy, owner of the great Compositions of Wool blog, (highly recommended - overflowing with yarn love) that I have won her generous yarn giveaway! - Over the Moon!
It's a great selection -- and has a few things I haven't tried before -- like the gorgeous Louisa Harding Hulda... with a mix of wool / acrylic / linen  - it has a really nice tweedy / heathery look and it's super soft.
And just love the way it looks with the oxblood colour of the laceweight yarn! I have been  going through a grey appreciation phase recently - so this makes me very happy :-) Thank you Amy!
