The beauty of the material 2.

A while ago I posted about the wonderful linen I bought from Kate of YarnStories.
The yarn was a delight even in its untouched skeins, but enjoyed every minute of working with it, once I decided on the project - a lacy summer scarf.
The piece is worked in circles, motif by motif; the motifs build into strands. I used two strands, to make the colour transition smoother. (it seems quite impossible to photograph the exact colours - the ones of the skeins deliver the tones better than these pics)
After blocking / ironing the shapes hold up nicely, and the initial stiffness softens up nicely with wash and wear.

The next idea is about how to combine them with wool for winther warmth and extra texture....
